Publication Design and Project Management
The Illinois Chapter of Community Associations Institute [CAI] serves the educational, business, and networking needs of community associations in the Chicagoland Area. Members include condominium, cooperative, and homeowner associations as well as those who provide services and products to associations. The Illinois Chapter has over 1100 members including 250 businesses, and over 500 community associations board members and unit owners representing over 100,000 homeowners.
In an era of ‘make everything digital’ the quarterly Common Interest magazine remains a valuable and much-anticipated communication vehicle. The content of the magazine is provided to paying members of the association, as it contains extremely helpful advice and guidance for its members. Being a printed magazine in a digital world, the drive to keep costs down while continuing to deliver for members and advertisers remains paramount. “Do more with less while making the publication interesting and relevant” were our marching orders.
We completely redesigned the publication and the production work-flow – streamlining the advertising and editorial submission and review process. Each quarter we work with the proverbial ‘bushel-basket’ of assets to create a 60-page publication from concept to delivery. Our publication and project management expertise has helped CAI to maintain costs while dramatically improving the look, feel and production values of the publication.
