What is an Alt tag you ask? Explained by Webopedia, “An Alt tag is an HTML attribute specified in the IMG tag to provide alternate text when an image on a web page cannot be displayed.”  Essentially, an Alt tag is the text alternative to an image.  It is a way to describe an image for those who cannot see it.  Alt tags are important for Search Engine Optimization, or SEO. The Internet has ‘crawlers’ that search the web to give a searcher the best possible results for an organic web search.  These crawlers read alt tags, among other things on a website, to ensure that search engines deliver the best possible results to the searcher.
