The Checkered Giant is a collaboration of talented working artists committed to helping other artists reproduce their original work in a collectible fine art format. We want to connect, educate, empower and promote visual Artists, enabling them to market and sell their art.

As artists, we understand the need to create and maintain the integrity of the art, the printed editions, as valuable work to be marketed and collected as such. With 30+ years of commercial color expertise, technical and artistic talents, combined with state-of-the-art reproduction equipment and the finest materials, we are committed to being true to the Artist’s original color and expression and to reproduce their artwork with color fidelity on each and every print.

As every story begins, ours was no different - it began with an idea. As artists, we were looking for a place to reproduce our own art and market ourselves. We have the background, we have the materials, and we have the reproduction equipment, so why not do it ourselves. So our fine art reproduction division was born. All we needed was a name.

The Checkered Giant, If you ask each one of us, means something different. It’s the dream turned into reality, the imagination reproduced and the stamp of authenticity. It’s the artistic stroke on a canvas or in a 2D space.It is art in it’s original form, reproduced for the enjoyment of others. It is all of these and more, it’s whatever we want it to be, the possibilities are endless. The Checkered Giant, what does it mean to you?


	Giclée Printing Printmakers of Fine Art Reproductions Using the Giclée (zhee-clay) method of art reproduction we combine the selection, recommendation and use of archival fine art papers, canvas and archival inks on our Epson printers. Giclée is French meaning “Spray”. It describes the process of creating a fine art print from a digital file, using ink-jet printing technology and handcrafted paper or canvas. Giclée printing produces an exquisite image quality and is a print on demand process. This keeps costs lower than other traditional reproduction processes because prints can be made gradually as they are sold, and there is no minimum order. As an artist, you can also control the substrate that your art is printed on and with the advancements in ink technology, don’t have to worry about color degradation over the years.

Ritch Miller

A lifelong resident of Wisconsin, Ritch finds inspiration in the state’s endless natural resources and beauty, feeding his desire to capture the wildlife and habitat in his paintings.

Ritch has been observing and sketching wildlife his entire life. While the mediums may vary - ebony pencil, pastel chalks or acrylic paint – his attention to detail, anatomical accuracy, and ability to capture the subject’s emotion has made his artwork valued among collectors across the country.

Ritch has donated originals and fine art reproductions of his artwork to national conservation organizations including the National Wild Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited, Whitetails Unlimited, Pheasants Forever and many local conservation organizations that have raised thousands of dollars to enhance wildlife habitat and protect our natural resources.

Ritch currently resides in Monroe, Wisconsin with his wife Lynda and their 2 children, Megan(12) and Ryne(9).
